Since the new site went live on 17 May we have shipped a long list of improvements. Here are the highlights. Forum

Old Phorum links keep working - read.php, list.php and feed.php URLs redirect to the matching new thread (28 May)
Forum threads are in the sitemap now, so they turn up in search engines (28 May)
Image attachments open in the lightbox popup instead of downloading (29 Jun)
Latest forum posts on the home page: reply count behind each title, sorted by latest activity, the date shows the newest reply, and clicking jumps straight to that reply (26 Jul / 1 Aug)
Locked, pinned and official-announcement indicators in the home page list (17 May)

Rankings and top lists

Cover images added to the year ranking lists (7 Jun)
Ranking entry titles fixed, plus a batch of scoring corrections (7 Jun)
Rankings menu added to the navigation bar (10 Jun)
Rankings now also cover hardware and publications related to software, not just software (11 Jun)

Japanese and romanized names

Company and manufacturer names now consistently show the romanized name with the Japanese original in brackets - search results, listings and detail pages (19 Jun, 26 Jul)
Fixed broken links for entries with a fully Japanese name, which previously produced an empty URL (5 Jul)
A run of link fixes across software, publications, people, highlights and the developer name on the home page (2-6 Jun)

Downloads and screenshots

Cheat and translation files download through a proper route from private storage (30 May)
Broken download links guarded when a file has no filename recorded (5 Jul)
Clearer screenshot labels (30 May)
Compilations without their own screenshots now inherit title and game screens from the games they contain (31 Jul)

News and videos

News feeds fetched hourly (8 Jul)
YouTube videos are only auto-published when the title is in Latin, Japanese or Korean script without emoji; anything else is held for manual review rather than dropped (8 Jul)
msx.org articles arriving both with and without www no longer appear twice (19 Jul)
Fixed feed items breaking on a missing author or creator (23 May)

More figures on the statistics page (25 May)
Collection fixes, especially for publications (25 May)
Dark mode colour corrections and link colour tweaks (25 May, 26 Jul)
Update log: orphaned entries from deleted records pruned and hidden from the feed (17 Jul)
Comment counts cached, so pages with many comments load faster (19 May)
